They said in the middle of the season that Tess will start acting nicer to Clark, so it looks like that's starting from this episode.
The scene was funny though, Clark was using lame excuses to begin with and was confused when Tess turned nice in the middle, "I want to trust you, and I want to know why Lex didn't" that line made me laugh at the irony, but I found it funny how they both know he's lyingm but he wouldn't give her information about it, in the end it sounded like Clark was taking the "I know what happened, but I don't like you. :)" route.

That's one thing Tess might be better at than lex. the old "attract more flies with honey" routine. But she's still a black widow no doubt

It's just a ploy, she's not getting nicer, she's just acting that way to Clark will trust her..

Absolutely. I just don't see yet how Clark would let himself be taken in -- unless he pretends to in order to find out what she's up to.

Black widow indeed! She's a venomous foe. If Ollie didn't have a history with Tess to validate she is who she is supposed to be, I'd be on the ship to say it's really Lex. I guess he wanted hair, and uh, he got cleavage to go with it :p

Umm...I must have missed the nice part. Her sole purpose for having that meeting was to show Clark the evidence related to the work boot and gauge his reaction. Her message was, I know you are hiding something. I am on to you.

I don't think she was nice either.I believe she is fasvinated by him just like Lex was.I am glad that Clark has a clear perspective of who has his best interests at heart.

I like the way she goes about it. She is very forthcoming and honest with Clark. She has an entirely different approach than Lex did. She wants to find the truth, and she offers what she knows in return. At least towards Clark.

I agree. Yes she's being nicer but only because she feels Clark has information she wants.

Yes, this was the start. I think so too. And then Tess is supposedly more of a love-interest type toward the end of the season. Although, I hope plans changed given how ED & TW are acting.

Well, I guess the cat and mouse game between Tess and Clark has begun. She suspects he is hiding something, and he has to pretend (poorly) that he isn't. She was willing to take drastic action in past episodes to find out about Lois and Jimmy. If the writers do her character consistently, then Tess should be sending her henchmen after Clark to get more information.

She isn't really being nicer. Sure, she said she wants to be able to trust him, but that was just a sympathy ploy. IMO, as soon as Tess mentioned Krypton, Clark should have played dumb and asked, "What's that?" By not doing that, he's showing that he's one of the very few people who know what Krypton is, making it pretty obvious that he has some involvement. If he keeps denying everything, she'll never really have enough definitive proof to think he knows anything about Lex's disappearance. Even the footprint wasn't enough to prove it, because as Clark pointed out, lots of people wear boots.

Lex/Tess is like 'bone girl' he has the power to morph, he's also psychotic and has a duel personality.
