i was actually on msm with my cousin and we both commented on that when ollie was talking with clark he seemed more concerned like chloe meant something more to him than just a friend.

I didn't detect any great sexual tension, it was more playful, but I did think the scenes could be read as something there, possibly developing something of a romantic relationship if they wanted to go that way on the show. Or leaving it alone if they didn't. I think it's evidenced that they've developed a deep friendship in offscreenville. His concern for her in that last scene with Clark was part of that, IMO.

Overall I was completely thrilled with the Chlollie, and was squeeing like a fangirl! When you 'ship a couple who aren't even a couple, believe me, you are thrilled with any screen time they have together, whether there is sexual tension present or not, and I'm still happy with it. Maybe TPTB will see how good these two are together, and how much chemistry they have as actors and put them together on the show.. maybe not, but this Chlollie girl is happy!

Everyone knows this. Thanks. :) I don't believe anyone was proposing scenarios. It's simply a discussion of Chlollie scenes and what we thought of them. I happened to enjoy them immensely, because I love Chlollie together, comic canon or not.

Until I saw this thread it didn't even cross my mind, in fact I didn't even realise there was a shipping crowd. It's fascinating how we all see chemiistry differently. I liked their scenes together and the scene between Ollie and Clark were they're discussing Chloe but I saw it purely as Ollie being a good and caring friend.

Yup. That's the very first Chlollie fic I ever read, and I was a goner after that! I then started purposely seeking out Chloliver fics and devouring them. Some are good, some not, some are absolutely fantastic, and really opened my eyes to them, and I saw them as a great potential couple, it really could be done well. I don't know if Smallville will go there, but even if they don't give us Chlollie, we have some great fics to read. :)

Yeah, I really loved their scenes. I feel Hartley has chemistry with everyone EXCEPT Cassidy Freeman... which is kind of a bummer, because the Tollie ship is supposed to be a huge part of their arcs.

I don't mean the subject matter is funny, I am talking about the way JH said that particular line. "So, what happened to her." I'm not lauging at the seriousness of Chloe's situation of Ollie's concern. Does that make things a little clearer?

Anyway i had never considered it before but after the scenes they had together i'm all for the Chlollie pairing.
After thinking about it i realized that Chloe and Ollie have a better chance of making it, (If they would ever get together) then either Chloe/Jimmy or Chloe/Davis.

Chloe doesn't love Jimmy like a woman engaged and about to be married is supposed to love her intended. Jimmy is a sweetheard he deserver someone who truly loves him.

Davis is a nice guy and there is something pulling Chloe and him towards each other, they are mistaking it for attraction but i think its something else.
And lets face it they don't have a future together what with him being Bloomsday and all.

So if the writers ever decide to pair Chloe and Ollie up i would be a very happy Shipper. Unfortunatly i don't think that is ever going to happen but we can always hope.

I know what you mean. I think JH was going for indignant? He places emphasis on the word HER. "So, what happened to her? But this comes just immediately after he's sort of grinning over the memory of a tiny blonde with one hand, mind you.. pushing him into the next room. Something is just odd about his choice in delivering that line. He didn't say. "So, what happened to her?" Maybe this is because the emphasis is not on the event,but on Chloe. I really don't know, but yeah, I get ya, weird delivery. He's evidently a bit angry and worried though.

ETA: I agree that I think Oliver has a newfound respect and admiration for Chloe, not merely for whatever her abilities are but for what she does with them, and how she's there for Clark. I didn't see him as envious or jealous of Chloe's devotion, I think he admires it, but knows it's dangerous for her. He's the one who witnessed it, and was freaked out/worried over her. Also, he's obviously not that comfortable with all the alien stuff, and knowing Chloe is human and having to deal with this, makes his concern greater, IMO.

Also, Chloe snarks on him, and he likes that. ;)

i've been talking about this going all the way back to the scene where Chloe met Oliver in Clark's loft i think it was in S6. to me this pairing makes sense on a number of levels, and the double blonde thing works.

i've been talking about this going all the way back to the scene where Chloe met Oliver in Clark's loft i think it was in S6. to me this pairing makes sense on a number of levels, and the double blonde thing works.


I agree meteor, they work on so many levels and compliment each other's personalities, work for the same things, etc. Chloe would keep Oliver grounded I think, and he'd respect her ambitions. There's a lot of reasons they'd work as a couple if you think about it.

not only do they work for the same things, but IMO they'll be working closely together at the end of the show. ever since 'Justice' i've seen Chloe's end game being watchtower or something of that ilk, and i still believe that, so they could become a team in the spirit of Lois and Clark. plus i think some of the disgruntled Chloe faction who are upset that they can't have Chlark, will be a lot happier if they get Chlollie because Chimmy doesn't do it for too many people. so..i see nothing but upside with this; it makes a lot of sense and IMO it will make a lot of fans happy (or at least happier).

**Chlex is my favorite AU couple. That couple's automatically taken out of the running of rooting for on the show because A) They hate each other now, and B) He's gone at the moment. Sticking to the fanfics. Good-bye.

**Chlean -- Oh, how much I love this couple; they are my favorite crossover couple, but there's doubt that they'll even do an SV/SPN crossover, so I think it's safe to say that they are not the couple I'm rooting for on the show. **And last but not least: Chlark. I'm actually still kinda rooting for them. I wouldn't be mad if they suddenly got together. But, it seems that Clois is inevitable (:rolleyes:Pfft!), so they probably won't happen.

I loved their scenes together. I didn't see any romantic or sexual chemistry but they had great friendship chemistry and I like how they played off each other. The snark and humour was cute and I liked seeing Oliver concerned about Chloe. That was sweet, it shows that they're friends.

I love Chlean too. I think it's more about strong male characters who are more compatible and heroic for Chloe. She's a heroine in her own right, and she deserves a hero. Even though Lex is the "villain" his intelligence and charisma still would have made a better partner for her than Jimmy does. I wasn't really much of a Chlex 'shipper, but I could see it at one time, and I could relate to the Chlexers out there. Jimmy's just not "man" enough for her, IMO. I don't know what it is, but it just doesn't work.

I love Chlark. But yeah, I'm really tired of getting my heart stomped on.. nuff said.

So, I came to simply adore Chlollie, and saw the possibilites there ever since their first meeting. :)

That's a given!!!! I mean Jimmy or Oliver, is there really any doubt which one is a better fit! Clark or Jimmy, again is there realy any doubt! Davis or Jimmy, again is there realy any doubt which one suits Chloe better! When you think about it, it seems like the writers deep down hate the character of Chloe and thus paire her up with the one character, which is no match for her whatsoever, when there are three, four if you count Lex, who would suit her much better!!!!:\:confused:

I think you are right! Oliver is envious of the devotion and loyalty Chloe feels for Clark! And quite a lot! Somehow Chloe's and Clarks relationship reminds of the opera 'Tosca' this season! The drama, the conflict, the devotion, the love of the purest kind etc...

I guess I don't see this, because wouldn't this imply that Oliver wishes he had Chloe's devotion and loyalty? I didn't get that sense at all. Chloe is loyal and devoted to her friends, Oliver is one of them. She helped save his life in "Toxic", she's helped him in missions. They've evidently built a friendship in offscreenville. They've helped each other. I guess I just don't see Oliver's jealousy of Clark over Chloe here, maybe I'm missing something? :confused:

I saw them as playful, and though I didn't see sexual tension (believe me I would love it if they did), the playfulness and banter could very well develop into that in the future. Who knows, maybe not. Either way I was extremely happy with the Chlollie interaction, and simply thrilled that they shared screentime, just the two of them. I'm a happy Chlollie fan.
