Police scanner

I didn't see any threads that mentioned Clark listening to the police scanner, so maybe it wasn't all that big a deal to most people. I could identify with it, though, because I used to live in a place where people who had no connection to law enforcement would have police scanners in their houses & listen to them all the time! Clark listened to the police scanners so he could go save the day, but the people I knew were just nosy. In a place where you know just about everybody, chances are good that you would know someone who came up on the scanner, but it's still kind of nosy!
If you have a police scanner in your house for no apparent reason, I don't mean to judge you--maybe you're a superhero...

That was a nice Icom VHF receiver (yes, I'm a radio geek).

Nitpick: it was still in scanning mode while Clark was listening to a transmission. Nope... wrong. When a scanner gets a hit, it locks on that frequency, it's no longer in scanning mode.
