I know the FOS is in the crystal but what if Lex is still in the FOS? There was only CK's boot prints so how would Lex have gotten out? I've always thought that Oliver had Lex in a coma somewhere keeping him away from Clark. Lana couldn't have gotten him and MM sure didn't so I'm guessing he's still in the FOS. They could have filmed something last season when MR was still under contract to show Lex in a coma. Supposing CK finds Lex there and takes him to Oliver for safe keeping? That could have been filmed last season at the same time they filmed the collapse of the FOS. If Lex isn't in the fortress then I am all out of clues.

It will be the same crystals, but composed of new matter. My best guess (please no spoilers) is that the new FOS will be in Antartica. So the crystal will draw from the Antarctic ice to build the FOS. That's all I'm saying. The structure will look identical with the crystals inside looking identical & having the exact same programming. But the matter used to build them will be from Antarctica. That's why they showed the collapse & breakdown of the FOS in Arctic.

All they had to do was take shots of Lex lying there unconscious and perhaps CK carrying him off (which might happen if he finds Lex after reconstituting the FOS). Then Lex goes somewhere never to be heard from again. Maybe Oliver will even give him to Tess and she can put him in 33.1 for scientific evaluation. Lots of good evil things.

That would be pretty sick if Lex was still at the Fortress, by that I mean inside the crystal. It would make sense too because probably the crystal sucks everything up inside of it as a defense system but doesn't suck up Clark because its programmed not too and throughout the whole time, Lex has been studing Kryptonian knowledge, and when Clark revives, the Fortress, he is finally able to escape and Clark doesn't see Lex escape, that would be SICK! Just a theory though, but my number one point is that either someone possesed him, such as Lex fused with Braniac as seen in the Justice League Cartoon or he is secretly controlling Tess's Army and she doesn't know. Just a theory.

I still don't understand how people keep saying he's in the fortress. There is no fortress. The fortress fell apart & reverted back to the crystal. The fortress is made of ice & crystals that are made of ice that have programming inside them. It's pretty much a giant computer housed inside a crystal/ice structure. The crystal that made the FOS merely contains the knowledge of the 28 known galaxies as well as the programming that makes up Jor-El's AI. It contains no ice or other matter/mass. It obviously causes ice to turn into Kryptonian crystals upon contact with it. Since Jor-El's programming got inside the crystal when the Fire & Air stones were united in Commencement, he is the gatekeeper of its knowledge and is also the security that prevents the information from falling into the wrong hands.

Lex can't be inside the crystal. It's obvious to me that Lex does not want to be found. If he did, he would have easily popped up by now. He could have crawled or have been sledded away from the vicinity of the FOS, leaving no footprints.

If Lex is inside any crystal, I would say he is encased in a crystal similar to how Clark was in Gemini & Persona as a security measure. Jor-El could have programmed a crystal to form around him before the FOS was totally destroyed so he could trap him. If this is true, then the crystal would likely be somewhere deep in the Arctic Ocean, leaving no heat signature for Tess to track, yet protecting Lex from freezing to death.

But I am more convinced that he is out roaming the world and becoming the evil, educated villian we all know will one day resurface.

Yeah I've heard a lot of those "hints" but to be honest I think it was more wishful thinking than an indication that he would actually make a return appearance. I seem to remember MR saying in an interview last year that he wouldn't be back because if he did one episode, he might as well do them all (sorry, I can't find the interview so no link).
