Do you think that Clark and Lois are being pushed together too fast?
My own opinion, I think it's cute, I don't feel that it's too fast, there have been inklings of their feelings in past seasons, it's just come into it's own more this season because of Lana's absence. It's not like they've stated their undying love for each other ;). Clark still looks confused about the whole thing...while Lois realizes it more.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this season. I wonder how they'll wrap up this series...would they put the two of them together? Or will they leave that for the future?

^^ IA. We've always seen the hidden feelings between them since season 4. It's only become more noticeable with Lana's absence. As much as I would like to see them together, I think that should only happen after Clark becomes Superman and is dubbed "Superman" by Lois.

No, since Lana is gone(Thank God), Clark needs a new squeeze. And who better than the love of his life?

Interesting thread. Each season the occasional power that be throw hints about how they feel about each other. The hospital scene in Zod is a good example. But it has never been organized like it has here.I would say that even though it feels a bit forced,it has been very well executed and has made many people Cloisers.

They are handling Clois just right. Not too fast and not too slow that it becomes annoying.

Clark and Lois have had their moments since the beginning of season 4. And now that Lana's out of the way, there's room for their relationship to grow. I say FULL STEAM AHEAD!

I hope they don't get too ahead of themselves from here on out. So far, I think they're almost at the right pace.
The story has certainly picked up and the pace is unbelievable at times. I have to watch an episode atleast 2 or 3 times to catch everything, lol. But I think once Clark ended up at the Daily Planet, this was inevitable! The interaction had to grow and it has but I hope things slow down a bit after the 'Bloodline' episode.

I don't get the brother-sister comparison.
Is that because he's awkward around her when's she's showing skin?
Or is it because they're always bickering?
If you ask me, both are stereotypical I-like-you-but-don't-want-to-admit-it moments. You see them between plenty of characters in plenty of shows. (Still fun though.)
IA, I don't see them as the brother-sister pairing. It's more bantering, like "pull your pigtails" type of relationship. It's cute, similar to the bantering between Lois and Clark in the New Adventures of Superman...elements of attraction but they both resist...;)

I think they are developing at a nice and steady pace. Since Lois is not in every episode, I think it is safe to say that they will not be moving too fast this season.

It's not too fast,it's the perfect timing actually. There always have been hints here and there that they had feelings for each other right from the start but, they decided to hide them behind sarcasms, nicpicking and teasing. It's always been that way with Clois, the fun is in the chase and it's just beginning.

I think they are moving at a good pace, they're not forcing it, but they're finally progressing the relationship. I totally agree that their feelings have been shown, and Zod is an excellent example, another example is Recurit, the scene where Clark grabs Geoff and says "Where is she", the way he said it showed that he did care about her. i love the way Clois is going, it's great.

I voted for it being a tad fast but not overly annoying.
In my view, with Lana (thankfully) gone, I would have rather seen Clark and Chloe become a little "more than friends" rather than this Chimmy ship. While at first it works out fairly well having a romantic relationship with someone you can confide in and knows the secret, ultimately of course it doesn't work out. If I were the writer, Clark initially frets that he can't have a romantic relationship with someone knowing his secret, but towards the end of the series realizes that perhaps it can work, but he does need two identities. And then, there is the hint of sparks flying between Lois and Clark (and the suit, and the flying, etc). Then the series ends.
Maybe then a new series could spawn called "Metropolis" to pick up from there...

I love the idea of a new show called Metropolis. I could see it happening if we got the same actors, but I think the actors might get tired of playing the same characters. Most of them would probably want to branch out.

I love it, it is good enough. They havent made them kiss yet but it has shown that they definitely have feelings for each other, maybe they were always there but they have grown and its harder for them to hide it. After all in Crimson they did show a lot of passion that I don't think would have been there whether they were both on "drugs" or not...if they didn't really have it inside, especially with Clark, we know his true feelings come out with redk. So ya I feel they are doing an excellent job, not too fast not too slow, I want more of it, it is fun and sexy.

BUT, I REALLY WANT MORE, MORE, MORE!!! Clark and Lois are truly Titillating together, IMO. What I think, as IMHO, is that it Depends on IF Season 8 is the FINAL season the way they'll pace the romantic buildup OR whether there'll be a Season 9.

thats how i've always felt. this is too much waaaay too fast for these two. lois and clark had a better relationship set up than smallville. its like this show thinks the only way to make things interesting is to make there be sexual tension between characters and its not.

I voted for a tad too fast, in an ideal smallville a tad slower would be perfect, but we are running out of here pretty fast and if we want to see a bit of Lois and Clark together for real before the end of the show, then they're moving at the right speed.

I love it. I would prefer to see more action than words, however. What I mean is, I don't really care what Maxima has to say about Clark and Lois. I can see the attraction and sexual tension underlying the sarcasm between the two of them. I can read between the lines.

I think that the Lois side is moving to quick and the Clark side too slow.
However I do think its good having it the other way around, Lois all over Clark, whos holding back, rather than when Clark was the one all over Lana.
I just wish Lois would have played harder to get. I feel that when Clark admits he likes her then it will be all over.

I completely agree except I voted the opposite, I want more but I also think it is done perfectly now. But as someone said I am selfish and greedy not with Lois and Clark especially but with Clark and Love in general lol. I need a part of love in each episode, if not I am frustated (like in Prey for example). I know they can't always play "love is in the air" but I like it so much:pMore, I wish for a season 9, I can't imagine Smallville ended:(

its far from forced or rushed the frst line lois says when she sees clark is look at his face making it clear that shee finds him attractive and since then they've both flirted with eachother though they are both finally realizing for themselves just how strong they feel about eachother hopefully we will continue to see glipses of clois till the end of smallville when clark should except his destiny and we get full blown clois

I don't think is rushed at all. You could see their reaction, but DUH! nobody said that loves the other, so I said it's perfect to see their beginning of love. I have the feeling that when Clark will realize he does love Lois, she won't be so open, and she will look like she's over Clark, so from what we have seen until now it's shown why they are perfect for each other, but in future I think their relationship will take two steps back, until something big happens and they will have to recognize how they feel.

i dont think its steady right now to be honest. i dont think Lois should be falling in love with Clark at all. She should be at a point where she just likes him or just interested in him. not in love. its like someone rushing into a relationship just because they have no one else to care for them. relationships pop up on this show and make characters look desperate, it never makes them look like they care about the other person.

Too fast, IMO, but I'm biased, cuz I'm a die-hard Chlark fan, so any Clois is too much. lol
We haven't seen Lois and Clark do alot of journalism, and that's a key. I think before the go any deeper into the relationship, they should focus on the journalism/their competitiveness for stories, etc.

It is too much , too fast if they try to portray ClarkMan with more than a mild lust towards lois. On the other hand, her interest in him is fine and dandy with no, as long as it is unrequited. ClarkMan still has unfinished business with Lana and I think that girl named after the Nissan had more interesting potential that lois can ever show.

even though Lois has said she loves him?
I cant see how she sees him as just a friend anymore..especially when she had such a pleasurable look as clark was zipping her up.
I also dont think clark sees her as just a friend anymore, As the doors closed on his long stare after Lois in committed, it marked the moment where its all starting to change for him when it comes to her..just my opinion though
and i think it has changed
In identity he's jealous that Lois has a date. This is confirmed in the official description of the episode. People dont get jealous of someone dating when they dont have feelings for them...

In my opinion, I don't think the Clois relationship is moving at all too fast. The only reason they're speeding it up a bit because now they're getting closer to Clark's
destiny. But in the past seasons we've been given hints here and there of what's to come so I don't think people should be surprised at all on what's happening this season. Lois and Clark are being run a bit differently because of PSP (sp?) or whoever is taking care of the show this year, and the reason they're running it differently is because they want to give Clois more spotlight and put a brake on the Clana that the old people (whoever ran the show before PSP) have been dragging out on for seasons and seasons.

IMO, I think they have to move it along more now because if Lois is supposed to be broken herted in Bride when Lana comes back then that would stand to reason that her and Clark will be much closer, which is not where they are now, with both in denial about it. Maybe we will get a confession of feelings or a CLOIS Kiss in Bride before Lana appears.

My Clois-loving heart is just screaming 'MORE MORE MORE!'
I agree that it needs to go slowly. I don't actually think that its happened fast. Lois and Clark have known each other for four years, have gradually built up a relationship, recently have built up a close working partnership, have got to know each other, been there to comfort each other. Throughout all this time there may have been hints of attraction but nothing noteworthy, until now. To me, it feels like the natural progression of things that Clark should be moving on now and with Lois.

Seeing as it took clark nearly dying for Lois to even admit to his face that she loves him then to take it all back the next day means they are NOT rushing clois.

What can they do after dragging the Lana and Clark relationship on for so many years? Season 7 was a mess because they put Lana and Clark together when they just should have been over. Clark should have been alone at this point, I think. I think TPTB tried to make this show like Dawson's Creek. This was the main reason I did not want to watch SV when it first came out because I do not like teen, angsty, soap opera drama's. By dragging the relationship between Lana and Clark out over the years they wasted good screen time. They made young Clark Kent's journey to becoming Superman about his teen relationship with Lana. In the process, they made Lana one of the most hated character's on TV.
This is how I think it should have played out:
In seasons 2 and 3 Lana and Clark should have had a normal teen relationship and then ended it mutually to be just friends by season 4. She then continues to try to find out his secret like in the comics. Then Chloe and Clark could have had a brief romantic relationship in season 4, but realize that they are better at being friends. They decide, by the beginning of season 5, that they just want to continue to be good friends. Then their great friendship that they have now starts to develop as Chloe now knows Clark's secret (she finds out about it through Alicia, but Alicia is just Clark's friend while Chloe is the girlfriend).
In Season 6 Clark could have met Lori Lemaris (his college sweetheart in the comics), had a serious relationship with her but end it like in the comics. Season 7 he could have been alone, but I think he and Lois (she still has the relationship's that she had during the time that she has been on SV) comfort each other in this season due to Lois' break-up w/Ollie and Clark's break-up w/Lori. However, they are just friends, but start to see each other in a different light by the second half of the season. Now in season 8, things would not seem so fast regarding their developing relationship.
Meanwhile, the really important stuff like Clark's development and road to becoming Superman could have been played out better and taken first place to his romantic relationships, but Clana would have had their time, Chlarker's would have had their time and now Clois would be able to develop properly. Oh well. One can dream.

Are you kidding me? Lois Lane has been in Clark Kent's life for 5 years and he's falling in love with her NOW and that's fast? In the comics he falls for her when he sees her at the first time, so while I love all the developments, ups and downs and phases their relationship on Smallville has gone through, I say it's about damn time these two start going fast!!

Speaking as someone who was fed up with Clana since Season 3, it's about damn time for Clark to fall in love with someone else, bringing full closure to his relationship with Lana.
I honestly can't imagine someone complaining about something on Smallville developing too fast, when the biggest complaints I here are about things being dragged out, and streched to the breaking point.
That being said, the Clois relationship can't progress fast enough! In any case, I don't think that it's progressing too fast, but I'm enjoying the Slow Ride.

i thought so at first, but when i remembered that Lois has been around since S4 and she was close to Jonathan and Martha, i can see that having her and Clark together would make sense. they're good friends who've known each other for more than 4 years, it's completely plausible that there is love there. now, if they first met in S8, than that would be a different story but thats not the case here.

It is rushing the soulmates thing a little too fast, but I can't get enough Clois, so I'll take it.
It has been about five years and they easily could have built into it a little better than they had, but Clark and Lois had plenty of moments together over the years showing that they really care about each other and have chemistry.
Getting together was never really an option for either of them until now. Clark was either with Lana or reeling over something with Lana and Lois probably wouldn't even consider getting involved in that mess of a relationship as a third party. They grew close as friends because that was the natural option and romance wasn't even on the table until now.
It hit them just as hard as it hit the audience that they are falling for each other and mean a lot more to each other than they ever realized. I highly doubt either of them sat down before season 8 and thought about how important they were to each other. Over all these years of friendship, it just happened without them thinking about it.
