After seven good episodes i feel i can put a stamp on the season and say it's a success. yes, some may think "it's to early to say" but i don't care. If the season ended now i would call it a success.

And it looks like we have more good stuff to come! I can't wait:)

Isn't it a bit too early to say, maybe wait till mid-finale?

I wish I was that thrilled ....... putting the ships and triangles dramas, angst and lighswtiches aside .... I can say we had good episodes, Prey has been my favorite so far!

Season Nine anyone?

I honestly was very skeptical about this season, and I've been saying since S6 that SV was getting to a point where it needed to end. I mean, a show can only be good for so long. I am pleased to say that I was 100% wrong. I love the new direction of the show, and I honestly think that a Season 9 would be a good move, especially if TPTB have their way and bring in Darkseid. I think that could make for a kick-ass arc next season if they introduce a bunch of the New Gods. Like make a Kalibak episode and have him try to kill CK to gain Darkseid's approval, like in STAS, and maybe throw in some of the New Genesis characters as well.

I love the new direction Smallville is going this season, it's great for the show. Everything about it feels new, yet it's the same old characters we love. I really hope there's a season 9. I think they could do it for sure since this season is like reinventing the show in a way.

I agree, it is a success, I have actually enjoyed every episode no doubt about it and I can't wait till the next one. I would watch a season 9 if it is like this and with Tom of course as part of it

I wouldn't jump the gun too quickly. I do like the directions PS3 are taking the characters in. The earlier episodes like Plastique, Toxic, Instinct, and Committed were mediocre in my opinion. Prey and Identity have been phenomenal and I'm excited for next week.

We're only a third of the way through the season. It's a little too soon to say if it's a success or not. If the next 7 eps are as good as Odyssey, Prey, and Identity, then I will call it a success. If, however, we get eps that are poor in quality like Instinct and Committed, then IMO the season is not a success.

I do not think there should be a Season 9. An even number number 8 is sufficient. Let's end it already.

i really dont think identity was a good episode. it was okay i dont think it was great like everyone is making it out to be.

season 8 is good, better than lasts seasons crapfest thats for sure. but i dont know. i feel like alot of the stuff that is being put into the show at this point is just lightswitching. i prefer it more so than character regression but i still feel like there are things about this season that just bothers me. just my 2 cents though

Identity was excellent, this entire season has really given me satisfaction. So far, it is my favorite since season 3, and I feel that by the time this season ends, it will surpass even that as my favorite.

I voted "it's too early to say". So far this season is better than the last one.

This is the best season since Season 5. And that was the best season since Season 3. And that was the best season period.

Well S8 has been a BIG surprise! and the fact that we are no longer with Lex or Lana makes the return of them WAY MORE EXCITING! I thought this was gonna be a terrible season for many different reasons but I find that I am enjoying Jimmy, Tess and Lois more than I ever thought I would. Smallville is doing well with their approach. Can't wait to see what they have in store for sweeps and season finale!

Things are looking GOOD, no doubt about it. And from what we are told they only will get better. This season has picked up a lot of momentum and if it finishes that way then we'll be in for one of the best seasons yet ..

Yeah... we can feel the vibe around season 8. You get to see Smallville being published in magazines, websites, newspaper... Eerybody is talking about how GOOD this season is.

I hope they keep it up this way!

No, no, NOOOOOOO DARKSEID! NO NEW GODS! I love season 8, don't get me wrong..matter of fact thsi has become my third favorite season right up there with seasons 2 and 3......but to put DARKSEID is just.....c'mon....r they really planning to bring in DARKSEID???? I like what they're doing with Davis Bloome/Doomsday because he's not essentially DOOMSDAY yet.....if he were to have the same power and mass as the DOOMSDAY from the comics....Clark Kent would've stand a chance. My hope is that when season 8 ends he leaves Metropolis, or hell, Earth for a while, to fully transform and evolve into the doomsday we know who will inevitably KILL Superman......But DARKSEID is too much. Like I said before I don't want Clark Kent to face Superman's entire rogue gallery before he's...well...Superman....

I think it's time to let Tom Welling go though. he probaly wants to do other things in his life. Besides from what I've seen so far this Season looks good so why not end it now? Because most things can't last forever. I love Smallville but I'll be ready to let it go if it does end after Season eight.

Exactly my thoughts. Smallville should end after this season, when it's getting better again. I want Smallville to end on a high note, so that we can watch the very last scene with a smile on our faces, remembering all the wonderful moments this show gave us throughout the years.

And for Tom I think, too, that it's high time for him to be involved in other projects already. He should spread his wings, so to speak and not only "fly" already as Superman in Smallville but also in his career.
I personally would like to seeing him on the big screen as he has the talent and the looks.

I've always been a huge Smallville fan but all good things should come to an end, if we want to remember them in a good way. I don't want to feel sorry for this show, because they've dragged it out for too long.

Yep, this season rocks my socks so far. There's not been one bad episode, there have been at least 4 that have been no less than great: Odyssey, Instinct, Committed, Identity...

I'm loving the Clark/Lois relationship, Tess Mercer is a breath of fresh air, Clark has got himself back into Superman gear (not to mention some sharp threads), Jimmy has finally come into his own...I could go on and on, I'm loving it!

Tom Welling has already been on the big screen 3 times. He's done Cheaper by the Dozen, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, and The Fog. I know the first two movies were minor roles and The Fog wasn't exactly a resounding success. As for a career move, it's not my place to say, but I would think he makes quite a bit off SV, and if he's worried about typecasting, I would say it's too late for that.

I absolutely love this new season. I've been glued to every episode unlike last season with it's hit and miss episodes. I would love to have a season 9. I would definately watch it!

For all the Cloisers, this season is a rockin' success. But for us Chlarkers/Chloe-fans, this season has been a slow, painful death, so far.:mad::mad:

I'm watching the S8 dvds right now. The whole season makes more sense watching all the eps one right after another. I live close to St.Louis, and a few times SV gets bumped by the Blues Hockey games, sometimes they just have breaks in the season, and it's hard watching 5 segments on Youtube at times. I enjoyed the season much more watching the dvds, they have a much better flow, and extra information.
