I don't think Clark is clueless. I do believe that he realizes that there could be more to their relationship than just friendship but he knows what it is like for the people who are very close to him and that is danger. Does he want to pursue a relationship when it could end in tragety for Lois? Look at Jimmy this episode. Clark was worried about the danger Jimmy would be in if he knows his secret. Clark knows how hard it is to hide his abilities from a woman he is in love with. I think Clark is weighing the pros and cons of taking that step with Lois. I know eventually love wins out but not before the inner struggle for Clark to take that step with Lois to become a couple.

I think that Lois' "Love Games" are beginning to show. The writers are taking it slowly with their blossoming romantic feelings toward each other, and rightfully so, but they have Lois playing a "cat & mouse" type of thing. When I saw Lois smiling in 'Wilson's' memory video of Lois' most recent memories, I laughed to see how pleased she was with herself and how much she was enjoying that 'special', privileged moment with Clark. Great take on that scene. If there's anything that's unattractive or repellant to a man, it's a woman that comes on very strong. Lois is still in the dropping-hints phase, but is just a step or two short of throwing herself at Clark, as you indicate.

I disagree that he had his hands all over her when he removed her from the bar stool. Clark is a gentleman and wouldn't take such liberties. He didn't touch her in any inappropriate places. He was able to be close to her in the jersey because her physical presence has no affect on him.

Clark would be nervous with any female that shows her bare back and bra strap and proceeds to ask him to zip her.

I can't believe I have to say this but a phallic symbol does not need to be a certain size, nor does a person have to actually mimic a certain repetitive motion for an object to be a phallic symbol. :rotfl: But, it was clearly a phallic symbol.

I think you are taking all this a little too seriously. I would agree with you if this was a real life drama. But this is Smallville, and these scenes work the way they do for the sake of comedy. If the viewers manage to ignore all the physical, technical, medical etc. absurdities for the sake of action and entertainment, they should also ignore the relationship silliness.

I disagree. They can combine comedy and sexual tension in a tasteful way. I happen to find to find her behavior rather sleazy, so it is distracting. It makes it difficult for me to suspend disbelief.

Actually Im pretty sure clark has no idea how she REALLY feels about him. You seem to be conveniently "forgetting" the extremes it took for Lois to actually admit to his face that she loved him..and she almost instantly took it back and pushed him away in the elevator. She refuses to let clark know how she really feels, she refused it in Instinct where clark was so desperately asking her where his soulmate was now if Lois was REALLY willing to allow clark to get close to her she could have givenhim the clear indication here that its her. ..SHE has the knowledge of the deep bond they share and the fact that she loves him, ...yet she doesnt say a single word, walks away and leaves him hanging there.

I think people are mistaking what WE see for what clark sees..we only ever see how deeply in love lois is with clark when HE is not looking..that means he cannot see it, all he's seen is Lois admit she loves him, then almost instantly taking it back, he buys it. I liked it. and yes, so did she! The part that I particularly liked was that we were given another hint at her feelings for Clark (and his obvious changing heart toward her) without the scene being specifically about that subject. I liked how the focus of the scene was Sebastian and Lois, but that we were able to see a second perspective of the famous dress zipping from Lois's eyes. Enjoyed that little touch, particularly enjoyed comparing the two character's reactions to the same innocuous event. Uh, hello... if those big, manly hands were zipping my dress, I'd be grinning like a fool too!
