Throughout the episode, I noticed some parallels with the scenes in this episode and TDK. I'm pretty sure that they weren't meant to be like that, but I just noticed a strong resemblance.
First:
Chloe's Speech in Isis: Chloe sounded just like Jim Gordon in the end of TDK. They both talked about how Metropolis/Gotham was a dangerous city, how they lived in dark times, and how Clark or Batman was what the city needed. The city needed hope and both Clark and Bruce were the ones that could provide it for them. Gordon's speech seemed much darker because of how corrupted Gotham was, but the lines they used were very similar.
Like Chloe said, "It simply gives the world something it desperately needs right now....a hero. In TDK, Gordon said, "Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now...and so we'll hunt him, because he can take it."
Also, I saw a parallel in:
The Good Samaritan plot: The scenes didn't have the same overlay or whatever, but the music used and the set-up seemed similar to the scene in TDK when Lucius and Bruce went to China and they had that ominous music (don't remember the name from the soundtrack) playing. It reminded me of when Bruce was on top of the building and they were planning to use the plane to capture all of the men in the building and leave out with Lau. The same thing happened with Oliver and Clark in a sense because of the music they put in the scene and how both plans were diverted in some way (but they ended up working in the end).
Did anyone else notice these (or any other noticeable ones)?
