Jeez this was a lack luster episode...
I think it had one saving grace and that was the end scene any other scenes you feel need credit?

Why do you feel it was lackluster?

Just interested. Not many other people have said it, so I'm curious. :)

IMO it wasn't lackluster, but kinda frustrating. I felt like Clark tonight was a mixture of PS3Clark & AlMilesClark, but maybe this was just a necessary learning step.

The FOTW wasn't all that tough, and Clark was too busy playing defense the whole time. Maybe that's what the OP means

Maybe not lackluster, but frustrating for those of us who want Clark to be Superman. Let's hope it's the beginning of the end of his stage fright. He'll gain confidence as the season progresses, I bet.

I agree the last scene was the best part of this episode!

:pWell I just didn't feel it
The episode was slow it wasn't well written, the dialogue was poor. BUT I liked that GA found himself again although i'm dissappointed that they made it seem as though he was lost because of women...
Clark really needs to man up and it's very agro at this point for me YOU'RE FREAk'n SUPERMAN!
Props go out to Jimmy Jeers to Lois
BIG Jeers to Clois it's just moving to fast and slow does that make sense?
Where the hell is Davis?
Still need more reasons?

I could barely make sense of that last post... :\

It wasn't a lackluster episode, it was an important episode taking another large step in the right direction and bringing Clark closer to becoming Superman.

I'll admit that the episode was a bit frustrating, but IMO, it was not bad; after seeing him act so super last week, it was tough seeing him act so defensive. That being said, the last scene was amazing because it was so out of left field, and overall I think Clark learned a lot from this episode. Moreover, I feel that the events that occurred here are what propel him to eventually come out from the shadows and let the world know who he is. That's a beautiful thing!

he was lost because he found out that his parents' death wasn't an accident, but rather that Lionel Luther had had them murdered.

Ill have to disagree about the lackluster but agree on the last scene.

Ive been mising a proper bit of evil since Lex diappeared. Tess is just a bit too cudly to be really nasty.

Chloe really showed Tess how to act evil in that last scene. Maybe Lex is hiding out in Chloes head along with Brainiac.

Nows thats a combo:D

Are you serious? This is SMALLVILLE, this show is about HOW he becomes superman, NOT about "Superman." This episode was very important because made Clark realize that his destiny isn't only to save people; but to also give hope for people as well. That is what Superman is about, and this episode did a good job portraying it.

Maybe you should re-watch the episode, and pay attention to the storyline again.

I agree with the OP, not the whole episode. The Chloe telling Clark the world needs a hero speech was good, the Clark watching Ollie save the day and then looking like well maybe I should do that was good. The rest was blah. And Jimmy was pretty tolerable. The last scene did save the parts that were blah.

This episode was very important because it made Clark realize that his destiny isn't only to save people; but to also give hope for people to look to in times of danger, hence why he needs another identity, and ultimately the reason why he become Superman. Maybe you should re-watch the episode, and pay attention to the storyline again.

Allison Mack was brilliant as Brainiac. Great ending scene.

I thought the entire episode was great!

The Chloe scene at the end was definitely a cool scene though.

The last scene was definitely the best part. The episode wasn't all that bad when I tuned out a few scenes.

The last scene was great and made the episode memorable.

Before that the episode could be devided into two plots. There was the Clark/Jimmy plot and then the Lois plot. The Clark/Jimmy plot was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it. The Lois plot was lackluster, added nothing really to the overall arc of the season and was easy to forget.

Without the last scene the episode would have been fun (Clark/Jimmy) but forgettable (Lois).

Okay, Chloe's last scene kicked major a$$! I mean, taking off her gloves like that, talking to him.... AWESOME!

Allison Mack once again proves that she is one helluva an actor. :) I only liked the CHLARK ISIS scene, SUPERMAN ON TOP OF THE BUILDING (hee hee), and the ending scene with Chloe. I don't like that Braniac is taking over, but the acting was superb.
