I really think Davis was going to give Chloe some sort of gift but the scene was edited. The gift probably contributed to the uneasiness that caused her to leave.

It could've been a gift for Chloe, or some sort of medal recognizing Davis' heroism. Davis was in his "dress up" uniform, so it's possible he was given some award.

I thought it was a Gameboy or handheld gaming device.

Why include that in the scene?

That is what I thought as well ....

They usually put objects in a scene for a reason. So, unless there was a conversation about Davis winning an award that was cut from the scene, that explanation doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe he had just won it, and then went to meet Chloe ...

I think an award is a good guess. You've got Clark's comment about being called a hero, the dress uniform, Davis up and about during the day shift (because clearly, he's on the night shift).

I hope we get a deleted scene. The episode was longer than usual, I think it was a struggle to fit it all in. Which may mean that each scene that did get in (and wasn't traded away for at least more commercial spots) was of reasonable value compared to the commercial.

Interesting....

Oh, I saw it, now it is a perfect box to place a neclace in! Now, knowing his paychech probably isn't very high, and the fact that anything above silver would be too meaningful and be thus sending Chloe running away down the hills, I am guessing the box is entailing a simple silver neclace with a nice simple silver pendant probably Chloe's birthstone, if he knows it! Now, that's just my imagination running away with me, but it could have been his intent to give her something like that, until she said, 'I think we shouldn't se each other for a while' that is!

I noticed the box and I thought it might have been a medal for helping to catch the killer. He was in his dress uniform and it would fit that he went to some special occasion for that. Clark mentioned Davis getting credit and being a big hero earlier so it made sense that when the killer was on the front page as being arrested that Davis would get some credit for it.

That makes also sense! They usually have to be in their dress uniformes when getting a medal, cops, medics, fireman etc.... So it could be, that he got one for helping catch the copytcat/ wannabe killer and wanted to share the news with Chloe to whom he feels connected to, only she shot that hope down pretty quickly before he had a chance to share his good news!

IA, especially since he was in full uniform. How ironic is it that he's the killer, yet he got an award for his EMT role in all of it.

That actually makes sense...because he did look more dressed up then normal. I wish if they had taken that angle it didnt get cut. Thats an awesome thing to see....that davis gets a metal for his heroism in catching a murderer....when he is one as well. Great irony there!!

I'm guessing thats what it was..

Yeah, I'm thinking it could have been a medal now. Hopefully, there will be a deleted scene.

I did not notice the red box in that scene, but I did notice he was drinking a beer in uniform in the daytime. Also, since when do paramedics wear "dress-up" uniforms? My husband is a retired navy officer and got a good laugh over his tassle (or whatever that ropey thing was on his shoulder). He seems more like a police officer or firefighter than a paramedic.

Maybe he was going to give her a rosary with an onyx crucifix on it.

But the crucifix was already hanging in the ambulance when he got in at the end and he was still holding the box.

Give him a break .. I mean the guy just thought he was a serial killer, and almost got killed by one, and he wasnīt on his duties while driking, so I didnīt see any problem with that ..

I just rewatched the scene and it definitely looks like a box for a medal of recognition. It looks like he was in a 'Dress Uniform' and they mentioned earlier in the episode that he was being considered a hero for saving a lot of people at the incidents. I get the impression that he had just come from the ceremony and was having a celebratory beer. It would have been nice if it was explained a little bit though.

Good catch though, I totally missed that box on the first viewing.

Oh, I was just joking about that. That would be super-creepy if he did that.

Crunchy goodness. The Chlavis triangle will heat up as soon as Clark realizes that.
