Alright, I didn't see a thread for these books, so I though maybe I'd make one. I'm a huge Vampire Chronicles fan, just not an Anne Rice fan. But you have to admit, the books are addicting. My favorite one is the first one, Interview With the Vampire.
So, how about anyone else?
Here's a link to one of those Louis and Lestat photos on Deviantart, and personally, I think this one is the best. -> http://satomi-chan.deviantart.com/art/Lestat-and-louis-da-vampires-8067800
Look closer on full preview, and you can actually see their teeth!

Yeah, my sister is a fan of these books too. Now, she's reading the second book. I, personally wanted to read them too, but I don't have patience anymore, I have study and stuff. But I heard her talking with her friends and she said she likes them very much. I've heard there are a lot of books connected with each other.

Over fifteen books, all inter-connecting each other. They crossover with the MayFair witches, even though I'm not a fan of them personally. Your sister has good taste, however I must warn you now, the first book's very depressing. Lest's just say, Hemingway and Louis de Pointe du Lac might have made an excellent writing couple.
I have the series - I really enjoy them :)

Ive read alot of her books, I think I went through The Vampire Lestat or Queen of the Damned the fastest. QOTD had some hilarious moments especially with Armand and the telephone. I tried to read the Mayfair Witches but it was just too disturbing. Her non-vamp/witch books are good too. My favorite is Cry to Heaven

I love Exit to Eden, but Cry to Heaven was good!

I prefer Cry to Heaven to the Vampire Chronicles, but I did used to read them. I liked Queen of the Damn even though I often want to kick Lestat. I like Armand though but i haven't read the series in a long while and i only read the first three and the Vampire Armand.

To tell yout the truth, the only two characters that I've ever wanted to shoot point black are Marius and Armand. :\ I;ve read all the books, but it just seems to me that these two as a pair have created more mayhem than Mekare down in the jungles. Yes, at time it does feel correct to imagiene Lestat being pimp slapped, but Marius deserves it more. I hate him with passion. :o

Lol you're probably right. hehe well for me I don't mind Lestat so much as a character, it's only when he's actually the one doing the story telling and things are from his POV that he gets on my nerves. I like character otherwise. and lol pimp slap
You hate Marius? Oh well, you're right about the pairing, but they're still pretty sexy :p
BTW thanks for the deviantART rec, I love that pic.

I love Lestat for who he is (a bisexual, raging, bipolar, Frenchman), but sometimes his romantic mishaps and failures get on my nerve. His relationship with Louis, for example, is one of those 'doomed before beginning' that's basically his fault. If he could only control himself.
Yeah, I pretty much despise everything and anything about Marius. At first, I was OK with him being mentioned here and there, and then "The Vampire Armand" came out and I just went nuts. Pedo-rapist much? I thought Lestat was bad with Louis, but he was a complete arseface with Armand. I blame Marius for Armand's downward spiral into madness.
Yeah, that pic's my favourite. :D

Lol yeah me too. hehe like i said, I like his character, it's only when he starts doing the story telling that it's a problem for me :p I actually don't mind reading about his romantic mishaps as much hehe. But like i said, I only read the first 3 and Armand.
Lol, i think it was cause I was 14 when i read that that i didn't feel so much the pedo angle. If i read it now i'd probably feel more iffy.
BTW what is your favourite pairing then?

Lestat's romantic mishaps are those of teenagers, and at times it's pretty hilarious at first, but then the vampirism gets in the way... and then we all know what happens. He had a school boy crush on David, and he ended up becoming a vampire, even though David was close to death and pretty much accepted it. Now Louis, Louis was ill at the time, his decision to become a vampire wasn't even from his heart (he was high on cough meds!). That one didn't count. Gabrielle, Les turned her because he was lonely (and then had a crush on her too )... So really, his romantic sexcapades are funny but saddening at the time. Poor, Louis. :(
Lol, I read Armand when it first came out, I was about 22. Yes, Marius was a pedophile, but back in ancient times, I think it was pretty legal for 40+ hot looking artists to bed fourteen year old boys. And you seriously don't remember the sexually explicit parts? For some reason, it was one of my favourite books plot-wise, even if some of the content was all too graphic even for an adult, but it pretty much confirmed my undying hate for Marius. He's like the bastardous underdog of the series. You don't know much about him in the beginning, so you respect him just because everyone else does. Then, you figure him out, hate him, but can't get him out of your head because his character is swo well-written. he's one of those "I love to hate him" characters. But really, straight up pedo.
As for my favourite pairing? Why it's the OTP of the entire series, of course. Lestat/Louis forever. :p

It's been a while since i read all of them so they're all a bit fuzzy for me but what i meant was i read it when i was 14, so i didn't feel the pedo bit if Marius was with a 14 year old :p Yeah, i know i was too young to read it, but i read it anyway.
Yeah, people Lestat has a crush on turn to vamps. He does things very rashly, doesn't think things through. Still, I do like Lestat and Loius together too.

You know, I always did think maybe Lestat wasn't right in the head. He seemed sick in the beginning, not vampire sick, but mentally unstable sick. I believe the lengths he took to secure Louis in his life(with Claudia) is an exapmle of the obsession he seems to procreate on people when he likes just one think about them. In Louis' case, his hair. :p
But really, Louis/Lestat owns all Vampire Chronicle couples. :D

It's true! First, he saw his hair and had the "urge" to run his fingers through it. Then he saw his eyes and was reminded of Nicholas, whose still probably alive.
His devotion and effort to Louis is something that started off with obsessive love and ended up with lifetime devotion. The French bastard went as far as ratting the entire vampire population out to the humans just so he could find his boyfriend. Oh, yeah. Forget flowers and candy, let's throw concerts! *cue Vampire Lestat pun*

As much as I love poking fun at Lestat's little love-capades, I am jealous. Louis' a lucky guy, his partner throws him concerts while my husband gives me an orange and toast for breakfast.
