I loved this episode.

But one thing that has been nagging at me ever since the teaser...

If the engagement party took place at the Talon, why on EARTH would Lois need to drive home when she lives on the very second floor of that building, and why would Chloe and Jimmy be outside before they went home to enjoy themselves?

very true, i totally thought that to myself, but figured whatever, lois's confession is most important. i'm not gonna nitpick at these things

Lois looked sooooo good in that over-sized jersey though.

I'll give you the first, but I think considering what Jimmy had in the apartment that night, I think Lois would have/want to be far away for at least that night

The second they were going to move their cars cause they can't be parked outside at certain hour that's why the police took them away

Clark thought that he would spare Chloe & Jimmy from having to take part in Lois' Whitesnake sing-a-long. She was drunk, and Chimmy were going to have a romantic night in Lois' bed (eww). That made sense to me.

Chimmy were saying goodbye to a guest, and decided to take a little stroll in the alley. They were JUST about to go upstairs when they were abducted.

1. yeao that's more like it, Lois would have sleep in the Kent farm (I guess) either way but going by herself if she wans't drunk...the only difference was that Clark had to take her

2. Oh I missed that I assumed it was the cars lol

Yeah I'm not really sure.

The Smallville Impound was the one that called but maybe they just re-dressed the Talon set to be elsewhere? Otherwise it doesn't make a lot of sense now does it?

It didn't really look like the Talon to me inside. So maybe they redecorated that set.

It was the Talon. So I guess it is a question of whether or not the audience was supposed to think it was a different location.

It was clearly the Talon. I just re-watched it and you could very clearly see the Egyptian style hieroglyphics on the walls and pillars.

LOL -- If that's the case, I have the same thoughts as this:

I think Jimmy might have a little talk with Lois about letting him and Chloe using the apartment that night since he had all this -- naughty things -- planned for him and Chloe. Lois wouldn't likely be in her actual "home" that night.

That's what I thought from the beginning. I never thought they were trying to hide the fact that it was the Talon. If they needed to do that, then they could have just moved the set to the Ace of Clubs set.

Last time my car was towed. (Parked on the wrong side of the street during rush hour). I had no idea where it was until I called the PD to report it stolen. I think I'll move to Smallville myself, it can't be more than 50 miles from here in some direction.

It is just another WTH moment on SV!! I mean there have been many of them this season, but this one was ..... LAUGHABLE !!

Not that clearly because I didn't see them until I was really looking for it.

It was definitely redecorated because the little tables and gauze hanging off things was removed and the party decorations were set up and they added a mini bar over a really really long table.

In fact the only thing that really looked like the talon was the coffee counter with the neon tubing in the back and the teal colored swing door with the port hole window.

But I'm not disputing that it WAS the Talon because it clearly was, but it did get redecorated so I'm not sure what we the audience were suppose to think.

It is odd that Chloe and Jimmy's cars got towed because they live at that apartment over the Talon so wouldn't they park where they wouldn't get towed? Then Clark tells Lois that she was in no condition to drive herself home, which at first I thought she got her own apartment, since in the previous episode she said she was meeting with a realtor to get her own place away from the 'happy couple' but she hasn't moved yet apparently.

At this point, as much as I am LOVING this season, it becomes very clear that it is ridiculous that Chloe, Jimmy and Lois live in Smallville and yet work in Metropolis.

As an aside, her line when her and Clark got to the apartment was great.

"You know what Lois likes to see when she gets home. Pants. Pants on everyone."

I think Jimmy and Chloe went outside to say bye to the guests and decided to take a little walk afterwards before going upstairs.

Clark took Lois back to the farm so Jimmy and Chloe could have private time together. Also, Lois assumed she drove to the farm and that makes me think her and Clark probably agreed to let her stay there for the night so the engaged couple could celebrate.

Or Lois finally found her own place we don't know about? but I doubt it!

This could also just show Clark's attachment to Lois and that's why he took her to the farm?

I don't really know why they said Lois couldn't drive home when her home was where she was at . These are the things I came up with to explain it.

I don't really think there have been nearly as many fopahs as previous seasons.

The only problem here is the limited budget which means limited sets and not very many new sets being made, but I do think they need to find a way to get some of sets redecorated into something in Metropolis . . . and by some I mean The Talon.

But really, this is a nitpick because it isn't anything that really bothers me. I enjoyed the episode anyway.

i think you put it best, if we nick pick the location it will take away from the important reveals of the ep. But I will say this, the new tptb ought to be mindful that the SV jury (us) know that town and it's sets like back of our hand. So time and space should always be considered (CK being the only exception)

This isn't the only season with those wth moments. Smallville has always had a problem with continuity and errors

I just rewatched all the parts of the episode that are pertinent to this discussion. Here are my thoughts:

The party was clearly held at the Talon. Chloe and Jimmy were out back seeing off friends they were talking to in the cab. They kept walking a bit, discussing Jimmy's parents and the toast. Then Chloe said something about going back upstairs for a little Chloe and Jimmy time--so clearly they were at the Talon.

Clark brought Lois back to the farm so she would be out of Jimmy and Chloe's hair, as referenced in his statement about them probably not being up for her white snake sing-along. He never said she wasn't in any condition to drive HOME. His exact words were "You weren't in any condition to get behind the wheel" which I took to mean that there was no way he was going to let her drive her own car to his place but rather took her to the farm in his own vehicle.

I think all of that was adequately explained. The only part that may require an explanation is Jimmy and Chloe's cars being towed. We can only assume they moved the cars for their guests to be able to park near the Talon and then never moved them back. Regardless, I think everything was clearly explained except for the cars--and I think being bothered by that tiny detail is indeed nitpicking.

I actually thought it was the Ace's club in Metropolis.

Dang, hadn't noticed as to where the party was....doh! Why wouldn't Lois have had her car parked at its normal spot since she lives at the Talon (for that matter, there should be legal parking spaces for Chloe, and maybe Jimmy, too, so towing wouldn't be a worry....), even if she was planning on leaving later so Jimmy could handcuff Chloe with those pink fuzzies? (gotta admit I'm damned jealous that guy!)

I guess it's all a minimal point since we are constantly dealing with the distance between SV and Metropolis....3 hours? Great commute.

BTW....Clark was awesome at the party trying to bail out the drunken lady for such cold comments. That alone was a Super thing to do ;)

The party wasn't at a club in Metropolis--clearly at the Talon. A couple times you can see the coffee and expresso machines behind the counter Lois is in front of when the camera shifts.

I think Aries knew that, but like me they weren't paying that close attention and at first just assumed it was the Ace of Clubs.

The cars being towed was explained in the message left. They said it was towed away because it was in the way of the street sweeper. I know where I live that happens so it explains what happened to the cars.

A. lois said she was looking for a new place so she could move out of the talon during instinct so she was probably going to drive to there and clark knew she was too drunk to drive and didn't want to leave her alone at her new place so he brought her to his house.
B. People go outside at night chloe and jimmy being outside of the talon and getting taken is far from the stranges thing thats happened in smallville.

The party was at the Talon. Jimmy and Chloe wanted to say goodbye to all their guests as they left, plus their own cars were parked on the street and had to be moved before they retired for the night or they would be towed by the town because of the street cleaning parking restrictions.

Clark took it upon himself to take care of Lois. Lois would have really cramped Jimmy and Chloe's style had she spent the night in her own apartment, especially since she was super drunk. Clark took her back to the farm in his truck because there was no way that she could follow him in her car as drunk as she was.

I think he took her home before the party was over and wanted the hosts, Jimmy and Chloe, to just focus on saying goodbye to the last of the guests and having the apartment alone without having to attend to drunk girl.
