I can't believe no one has commented on this so far. I really expected the whole Clois engagement thing to be levelled out with Oliver pretty sharpish. It's a pretty horrible blow to find out the girl you still love that dumped you is getting married to your best/close friend and you didn't even know - you find out by bumping into them in a jewellers store picking out a ring!
They had to go with their story but I know if it was me I would be pretty keen to make sure the person knew it wasn't true. I mean poor Oliver must be reeling - first Clark didn't tell him he knew Lionel killed both his parents in a plane crash, then Clark gets engaged to his gal Lois. Double sucker punch or what??
And to make matters worse Oliver slept with Tess to console himself. When they finally tell him it was all a ruse he's gonna feel dirty

I know. It was mean of Clark to not explain it. I mean Clark and Oliver are really good friends. And Clark had been there for Oliver to give him advice on his relationship with Lois. It was pretty careless of Clark to not tell Oliver it was just an act.

I don't know, Oliver didn't seem too broken up to me. And he was already hitting on "Mercy" before the jewelry store scene, so he doesn't seem to be pining too hard for Lois.

If I had been in Oliver's shoes I think I may have freaked out and caused a scene in that shop  Something along the lines of Clark you are meant to be my friend and you don't even think to tell me you are dating my ex?? Let alone getting married
The sh*t would have hit the fan for sure
Maybe next week Ollie and Clark will meet up and Ollie will take a swing at Clark before they finally clear things up. Ollie is already mad at Clark anyway.

I think Ollie has been consoling himself steadily with a parade of bimboes since his break off with Lois.Mr. Queen has always had in both comics and other media a reputation as a womanizer. He was already trying to re-hook up with Tess since the gift dress in the Maxima eppy
HOWEVER I do think it hurts his ego when he finds out his "girls" have moved on.

I think poor Oliver has made his bed so to speak. He loved Lois and only offered her weekends, now that's not too impressive. He apparently had real feelings for Tess and for some reason just dumped her and walked out without so much as a goodbye. I think Oliver is pretty bad with women on the whole and doesn't deserve any better until he can figure out how to treat them IMO. So yeah, Oliver's not having a very good couple of months, is he.

Clark and Lois were too busy to stop and explain things to Oliver. I think this is Oliver's personality, to love them and leave them.

Aww that's a bit harsh. He really wanted to make a go of things with Lois once she found out his secret. He really loved her but Lois decided to leave him 'cos she couldn't deal with the super hero thing. He even seemed like he was trying to get her back in the episode where he was poisoned.

I don't feel sorry for Ollie. Right now I'm not impressed with his actions. How can a man take a woman to bed that just bought a building out from under him in Star City? Does he have no pride? What a wimp and he is preaching to Clark - Bad. He needs to get his act together. I'm glad Lois is over him.

They couldn't tell him the truth right there because it would have ruined their cover. I'm sure they'll clear that up offscreen.

Actually I am hoping in this particular instance it would be smart for the writers not to settle this off screen. You have this episode ending with Lois and Clark shrugging it all off and making up excuses and attempting to put it behind them. Just when they think they are moving on Oliver Sends them an engagement present, or confronts them at a later date and they are like, crap we forget to tell Ollie it was a cover, which makes the question of each other fresh in their minds yet again, plus it would make for another great scene I think lol.

I agree, this has plenty of potential to be another great scene in the near future.

i honestly feel bad for the guy...sure he's a playboy.. but those were intense scenes for oliver to react to when he saw lois and clark and tess's scene... but hey sometimes a hero's gotta do things alone

The jewelry store scene was not particularly convincing. If I'd been Oliver, I would have thought Clark's reaction strange enough to ask him about it afterward... if there'd been an "afterward." Oliver was already moving in on Tess, so I don't think he was that broken up about Lois at that point. As for the after-Tess thing, he reacted the way I thought he'd would: shocked at her callous treatment but not about to freak out.

I don't think Lois left Oliver because of the super hero thing. She left because she couldn't be 2nd place in someone's life. Oliver only offered her weekends, and yeah, that definitely is not 1st place.
Clark will be able to make her a priority and still be a hero. He won't offer her just weekends.
And by the way, in Toxic he was with another woman, how was that really trying to get Lois back.

I definitely remember Lois deciding to dump Oliver because she didn't feel she would be a priority in his life with him going off to save the world. It wasn't about the weekend thing.
That's what made it kind of funny her saying she couldn't be with a super hero guy taking who we know she ends up with.
I thought in Toxic Oliver spoke to Lois about them possibly getting back together and Lois turned him down again for the same hero reason - I may have imagined this.
Oliver was right to be incredulous about the engagement but then what else is he supposed to think? - he walked into a jewellers store and there was Clark and Lois picking out a ring. Any where else and he could have just written it off but the location was the major convincing factor.
I definitely hope they have an onscreen resolution of this rather than it just gets forgotten about. There are several ways they could go with it
they could have Oliver asking Chloe & Jimmy about Clark's engagement :p
Oliver asking Lois & Clark about the engagement
Oliver confronting Clark over dating Lois behind his back - that would be fun as Oliver is already pretty peeved at Clark anyway
