I thought the Chloe and Clark's investigating about Maxima stopped short of the obvious conclusion - that she was looking for Clark.

Clark said that she was looking for someone who could withstand her ultra high levels of hormones as humans weren't equipped so I was fully expecting him or Chloe to conclude that she must be looking for him as apart from MM he is the only alien on earth that they know of. But instead nothing they left it at that, just seemed a bit odd.

During Clark & Chloe's discussion about the "concrete cropcircle" as Chloe called Maxima's symbol, she 'educated' Clark about the 'alien' visitor; who she was and where she was from. Clark was shocked by the knowledge Chloe possessed and called it her Brainiac download with the Intergalactic Encyclopaedia. Chloe deduced by the chemicals found in Maxima's victim's systems that she was looking for a mate. She told him that, "If she can find someone to survive her 'killer kiss', then she can live happily ever after." Then Clark told her that, "...the problem is that the humans can't take the hormone surge. They all flatlined." In response, Chloe looked at Clark and said, "Then that certainly narrows down her choices." Off her remark, Clark looked Chagrined. IMO, he agreed with her implication about him. "An Obvious Conclusion" IMO.
