View Full Version : Does Clark not care that Kara is still missing?

OK I am a little bit fuzzy exactly how she last left toward the end of season 7 but if I remember right wasn't she last seen in the phantom zone?I remember Clark being really worried about her at first and trying to track her down but now it seems like he has not only given up on trying to find her but he seems to not even care where she dissapeared to.I know Kara will return later on in the season to wrap up the charecter but I think its odd the way the way they are pretending untill she shows up she doesn't exsist.

Hmm, it's odd that the writers failed to mention anything about Kara (as far as I can remember).

Hmm, maybe. It seems like a lot of things are going on behind the scenes. :\

If he can rebuild the Fortress, he can free Kara. Can't he access The Phantom Zone from it?

Indeed he can. Fortress should be up by episode 9.

Yeah I just think its weird that he has made no metion of Kara just vanishing this season, and yet he still finds time to moan about lana and suddenly have a necklace she hasn't worn since season 2! I just wish he cared about Kara a little bit more after all that happend in season 7 and if I remember right she got captured in the Phantom Zone after confronting braniac to release Clarks precious Lana.

Nope, he doesn't care.
She's joined the ranks of Martha, Jonathan, Gabe Sullivan, & Lana's birth father
in the happy little land of Offscreenville.

First they write off my girl Laura which I'm extremely PISSED BY THAT, now they don't even mention anything about her whereabout, if they don't mention about Kara next episode, I SWEAR I'll never watch Smallville ever again! ...NEVER...NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN...*sob* I miss Kara so muchie =)

Clark must be looking for Kara behind the scenes, as well as looking for the"real killer" for OJ.

 sad but true. Is it so hard to say, I got a call from mom today, or to have a random picture of them somewhere in a scene SOMETHING!

At least mention what's going on behind the scenes unless he thinks she's dead? it's just strange to not mention her at all when she was a focal character last season.

Actually kara(laura) is due back in bloodline ep 8 for her one episode return spot. Many of us would have loved if it was in legion and then she went back with them to the future but since the episode moved from 9 to 11 they probably wont be filming the episode to mid/late dec because after filming episode 10 bride they will likely be on their mid season hiatus period where they have a month or so time off.

And laura said she was returning this month to film her episode and they are currently filming episode 9, and we know episode 9 and 8 are being filmed out of order.

Sheriff Adams and Lionel died as well as Jonathan, so how can they be in happy offscreensville??

I must admit the whole Lana's real dad never being mentioned again was a bit weird, though.

I'm kind of irked that Kara hasn't been mentioned yet. Chloe was the last one to see her. I understand that in all the hubub of Artic/Instinct... she was forgotten. But Chloe and Clark should have talked about her in "Toxic" at least. They talked about Brainiac in that episode.

Jonathan died...

Uhh... yeah, I know.
My point being, once an actor leaves the show (by any means), it's rare that they are ever mentioned again. It happens, but nowhere near the amount it should. Considering they are supposed to care about these people. It's bad continuity.

Does Clark even know where she is? Brainiac never did said where she was. But I do agree that they should at least mention her.

Sure he cares. But he is powerless right now to do anything about it.

He doesn't know where she is. He has no way to find out where she is. She has disapeared from existance. He has no means to contact Jor-El to question him about her.

Now that he knows that the fortress crystal is out there I am sure that as soon as gets a hold of it he'll ask Jor-El about Kara.

But for now..

Plots go on, storylines go on. She'll be found when she is found. And Clark can't allow his life to revolve around Kara.

Actually, the last person to see Kara was Clark, in Veritas, when she flew off with Brainiac. From Apocalypse to Artic, it has been Brainiac, posing as Kara. And Clark doesn't know that Kara is in the Phantom Zone. He asked Brainiac if he killed her, and Brainiac said that what he did to her was "worst than death", and didn't elaborate. I suppose Clark decided that he was lying, because he found no trace of her, and assumed that he killed her.

In season 7, Clark tried to find her, before she reappeared in Apocalypse, but everything he tried was useless, because he had no idea where Brainiac and her flew to. Considering that Brainiac posed as Kara since the moment where Clark found them in Krypton, Clark must have thought that Kara exploded in the planet alongside with everyone else. Why should he believe Brainiac, when usually everything he says are lies? He probably thought that Brainiac was taunting him, just to prevent his destruction.

People, people, people she is gone dead, she is a phantom by now, she had no protection whatsoever from the horribly harmful effects of the phantom zone which ironically only in Smallvilleverse has such effects as originally it was intended to be a confinement for criminals as an alternative to the death penalty in the comics and in Smallviell is very much a fate far, far worse than death. But the point is and remains she is gone for good, suopergirl simply does not exist and won't exist in Smallvilleverse or any possible spinoff except unless she is from an alternate universe where Clark never existed she is superevil etc, etc...

Although I actually ended up liking the Kara character, the way they handled her was a mess from the beginning.

They shouldn't have brought kara in at all if they were gonna do this with her its just stupid- as previously stated we have had some real where did they go moments such as chloe's dad but for kara it is a BIT much

Didn't PS3 said in one of the interview, Brian Peterson I believe said that, Almiles brought in Kara as a way for Clark to find out more about Krypton and his relatives.

Read this people! How can clark even look for her when he cant fly into space after her? Although yes, they should have made a passing reference for continuitys sake. Same thing happened to allicia. :(

the thing that pisses me off is that they don't have to do much to keep us fans happy. one line that included her in the last 4 episodes would have been fine. one mention of her name.

i mean they bring in shelby for two seconds and we all go wild because they are making a slight effort to remember characters. seriously, guys, just one sentance. something simple. anything....

ITA. I say this over and over around here: How hard is it to show Clark coming down the stairs in the morning and instead of adjusting his watch, have him saying goodbye to his mom on the phone. Something like, "Love you, too, Mom. Gotta run."

And, regarding Kara, he could just tell Shelby that he really misses Kara since she died. Since she is an alien and has no real family in Minnesota, Clark would have to lie about a funeral and all that, so I can understand why he would not mention Kara's death (I can only assume that Clark believes that Brainiac killed her or else he would be actively trying to find her) to anyone other than Chloe. But it is weird that there is no mention of her at all. Wouldn't Jimmy be curious as to where Kara disappeared to?
