Sorry, folks. The episode was cool and I liked it, but the beginning got me annoyed with the whole, Clark "commutes" three hours to go to work in Metropolis and no one finds that odd. We all know he can get there in seconds, but how does he fake it for everyone else? I realize that in past seasons there have been fluctuations in exactly how far Smallville in from Metropolis, but if it's going to be a regular set-up that Clark is still down on the farm, but works at the Daily Planet, then they are going to have to establish once and for all just exactly how far the distance is. It took me like half way through the episode before I could get over it.

What do you mean? In the episode when Lois aske him where he was, he sad that he was just entering the Planet, not at home in Smallville. For all other people know, Clark gets up at 6 and drives there.

Chloe did the same Journey all the time and so did lois since they lived in the Talon. .. which is located in...SMALLVILLE not metropolis LOL

Just like emergancy cases got taken to Smallville before they had a metropolis set also it didnt make sense.. it always made me laugh.

So? It never actually mentions when they wake up to get to work or anything of the sort?

I'm pretty sure that it's been retconned to forty-five minutes or something.

Me too:D
I always loved how someone would get hurt in Metropolis and wake up in the Smallville medical center. Or how Chloe would drive to Clark's barn just to tell him something and then go back to the Planet, and then go to the Talon, ect. Her yaris must be FANTASTIC.

Yeah I think that happened in Veritas when Lionel said that Smallville was just outside of Metropolis. Could be wrong though...

Metropolis is visible from Smallville. There is no way that is a three hour drive, at least not without serious traffic.

Lois is commuting every day, so why shouldn't Clark be able to?

i think the main problem is that the producers went out of their way some years ago to talk about the distance between smallville and metropolis, but now, for conveniance sakes, they've decided to move the entire town two and a half hours closer.

Clark's a farm boy, he's used to getting up at 4 am and working. Him getting up and driving or taking the train into the city wouldn't be a stretch. Why would they question it?

I disagree. They're writers. They'd more likely do something like fold time n' space, establish wormhole transportation, or something CONVENIENT like THAT.

I know...When Zod was re-shaping the earth to be like Krypton, there was the shaking of the world which showed when the Daily Planet and the Kent barn were experiencing an earthquake. This moved Smallville and Metropolis closer together. I'm not serious but then you never know when it is a sci-fi TV series.;)

i think the 3-hour commute thing was established in the episode (or maybe earlier) where blind lionel and martha were held captive in luthorcorp and where clark had to do a super leap from the top of one building to get into luthorcorp. since then, they've sliced the distance to maybe 20 to 30 min? i think they might have indicated it in a more recent episode...but i don't remember.

Holy poop-stick batman! you mean they don't actually show mundane, day to day events of every single second of people's lives on this show?! it's almost as if the people that watch don't actually give a flying fudge other than fastidious little ninconpoops.
just kidding but it really doen't bother me at all, but i guess i could kinda see why it might irritate some people.

A few times a month I take a 3 hour drive from where I live now to where I used to live and if only those 3 hours would go as fast as they seem to go when people travel from Smallville to Metropolis I'd be very happy..

My sister was in the hospital for more months than I care to count and my mother drove one way three hours from her home to the hospital with my niece after putting in a full day's work. You do what you have to so things work. And time is relative. Some days it seems to go slower than molasses, others it speeds by in a flash.
