TV Line is reporting that Julian McMahon (Marvel’s Runaways) has been cast in CBS’s backdoor FBI spinoff pilot FBI: Most Wanted. He’ll be playing Jess LaCroix, an agent at the top of his game who leads the Most Wanted Unit as they investigate extreme cases.
From series creator Dick Wolf and Law & Order executive producer Rene Balcer, FBI: Most Wanted will follow the division of the FBI tasked with tracking and capturing the notorious criminals on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. Wolf is said to have at least three FBI series in mind for his latest television franchise.
In addition to his role on the Hulu drama, McMahon’s television credits include Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.
FBI: Most Wanted is one of eight drama pilots ordered by CBS thus far. It joins legal drama Courthouse; X-Files-esque Evil; Frankenstein, a procedural about a homicide detective brought back to life after being killed in the line of duty; female Chief of Police drama Nancy; Republic of Sarah, centering on a small New Hampshire town that attempts to become its own independent nation; NSA drama Surveillance, which stars Sophia Bush; and medical drama Under the Bridge.
