A few years ago, it was reported that the Valiant Comics series Doctor Mirage was in development as a TV show for The CW. One of the creators behind that proposed adaptation was Gary Dauberman who is now involved with Swamp Thing. Talk of the development seemed to die down and the announcement seemed premature.

Now, Deadline is reporting that a new take on Doctor Mirage is in development for The CW — and this time, Laurie McCarthy (Reign) is working with DMG Entertainment and CBS TV Studios to bring the project back to life.

For those who have not read the comic, the modern take on Doctor Mirage is about “a female paranormal investigator who can communicate with dead souls except the one she wants to reach – the love of her life.” With iZombie out of the mix after this season, maybe there’s an opening for some dead soul exploration.
