Syfy Developing A Series Based On Brian Wood’s DC/Vertigo Comic DMZ

Let's hope this goes better than the last time a DC comic book series was in development for Syfy....

DMZvertigodc3Deadline is reporting that former Mad Men executive producers Andre and Maria Jacquemetton will be teaming with Gravity producer David Heyman for a drama series based on the DC/Vertigo comic book series DMZ.

DMZ was a 72-issue series that has been reprinted in 12 trade paperback volumes, telling the story a second American Civil War has turned the island of Manhattan into a demilitarized zone (DMZ), caught between forces of the United States of America and secessionist Free States of America. The series was written and created by Brian Wood, who is currently writing Marvel's X-Men comics.

Warner Bros.' cable division, Warner Horizon, is involved with the deal in addition to the production companies of the respective producers.

More details as they become available...
