BBC America has released a sneak peek at the upcoming second season of Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and in it, we see that Dirk being kept locked away has caused his subconscious to grow even more absurd to compensate.
Based on the novel series of the same name and adapted for television by Max Landis (Chronicle), Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency follows “holistic” detective Dirk Gently, who understands the interconnectivity of the universe, as he teams up with former bellhop Todd (Elijah Wood) to solve cases. Though the case for season two has yet to be revealed, the series has added four new players – Alan Tudyk (Suburgatory) as dangerous Blackwing-affiliated bounty hunter Mr. Priest; Amanda Walsh (Lost Girl) as Suzie, an insecure, unfulfilled soccer mom who transforms herself into seductive sorceress; John Hannah (Damages) as sociopathic wizard The Mage, who’s looking to destroy two worlds; and Aleks Paunovic (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Wyger Oak,
In addition to Barnett and Wood, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency stars Hannah Marks (The Real O’Neals), Jade Eshete (Ache), Fiona Dourif (When We Rise), Mpho Koaho (Saw III), Michael Eklund (Wynonna Earp), Dustin Milligan (Schitt’s Creek), and Osric Chau (Supernatural).
The second season of Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency is set to premiere this fall on BBC America.
