The CW revised their original plans for fall 2020 upon the official acquisition of Patrick Dempsey drama Devils, it was announced Wednesday.
Based on Italian novel Diavoli from Guido Maria Brera, the series follows the tangled relationship between investment trader Massimo (Alessandro Borghi) and his mentor/CEO Dominic (Dempsey), as Massimo is passed up for a promotion and finds himself the main suspect in a murder investigation. While fighting to clear his name, he’s forced to decide whether he wants to go up against Dominic and just how far he’s willing to go to get what’s his.
Devils will air Wednesdays at 8:00 as the lead-in to Canadian procedural Coroner. The previous time slot occupants were Two Sentence Horror Stories and Dead Pixels, with the former moving to Sundays at 8:00 and the latter headed for a summer 2020 premiere. Two Sentence Horror Stories pushes Masters of Illusion to Fridays at 8:00, where it displaces reruns of Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
The CW’s original scripted content is currently set to return in January 2021.
