By getting Mo sacked over her sexual relationship with Leon, which could’ve resulted in a lawsuit should things have gone sour, Maxine thought she had gotten rid of her for good. Mo was clearly gunning for her job and didn’t care to risk the stability of the show in order to prioritize her own career, so Maxine didn’t feel at all guilty in throwing her under the bus. This way, she could have control in figuring out who the next Lunch Hour co-host would be and this sturdy vehicle that she built for herself and women like her wouldn’t be in any danger for the foreseeable future. However, Mo has never been the type to go down without a fight and on the next episode of Daytime Divas, she comes back swinging at a time when Maxine wasn’t expecting it.

What Maxine forgot after getting rid of Mo was that Mo’s duties with and ties to the show didn’t cease to exist upon her firing. Rather, the show was still in contention for the Daytime Television Awards and once they receive nominations that include Mo for hosting a majority of the eligibility period, Mo is brought back into the Lunch Hour‘s orbit, however temporarily. Things have gone well for Mo since the end of her time working with Maxine, as she’s now a co-host on Lunch Hour rival Morning Talk, while The Lunch Hour still doesn’t have a permanent co-host and just got through shaking off the Shawn/Nina scandal that could’ve turned off its core audience. For Mo, it’s poetic justice for the way she went out and something that she can lord over Maxine the entire time they’re forced into one another’s company; however, it gives Maxine the motivation necessary to sweep the leg and remind Mo who the real Queen of Daytime is.

Elsewhere on Daytime Divas, Kibby has an uncomfortable run-in with Vance at the DTAs, while a confrontation with Star Jones leaves Nina shook.

Daytime Divas airs Mondays at 10:00 on VH1.

Will seeing Mo flourish on Morning Talk force Maxine into making a decision about the open co-host seat? Could Kibby’s run-in with Vance cause her to relapse? How will the DTAs impact the behind the scenes goings-on at The Lunch Hour going forward?
