The streaming rights to acclaimed OWN drama David Makes Man have been acquired by HBO Max, it was announced today. The series is set to hit the WarnerMedia streaming service on Thursday, July 16th.

Since its debut last summer, David Makes Man has generated a significant amount of buzz and awards conversation for its network. In addition to generating the best reviews of any OWN scripted original to date, the series, already renewed for a second season, won a Peabody Award while earning nominations from the Gotham Awards and Critics’ Choice Television Awards.

  

In addition to McDowell, the series stars Alana Arenas (Head of Passes), Isaiah Johnson (Hamilton), Ade Chike Torbert (East Los High), Travis Coles (Liza on Demand), Cayden K. Williams (Girls Trip), Nathaniel Logan McIntyre (Magic Camp), Jordan Bolger (Peaky Blinders), Phylicia Rashad (This Is Us), Ruben Santiago-Hudson (The Quad), and Elvis Nolasco (American Crime).
