USA has released the first trailer for upcoming cheerleading drama Dare Me and in it, we see just how much a toll the quest for perfection can take.
Based on the novel from Meg Abbott, with Abbott and Gina Fattore (Californication) developing for television, Dare Me tells the story of best friends Addy (Herizen Guardiola) and Beth (Marlo Kelly) as their relationship is put to the test when a new coach (Willa Fitzgerald) takes over their cheerleading squad and a shocking crime rocks their quiet lives in suburbia.
In addition to Guardiola, Kelly, and Fitzgerald, Dare Me stars Paul Fitzgerald (Younger), Zach Roerig (The Vampire Diaries), Rob Heaps (Imposters), and Alison Thornton (Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce).
It joins a scripted slate for USA that includes The Purge, Treadstone, Queen of the South, and The Sinner. The network also has Rosario Dawson-led anthology Briarpatch, the second season of Dirty John (which recently moved from Bravo), and an Evel Knievel limited series starring Milo Ventimiglia on tap.
Dare Me is set to premiere Sunday, December 29th at 10:00 on USA. The series will be distributed outside the United States by Netflix.
