Comedy Central has announced a premiere date for the final season of acclaimed workplace satire Corporate. The series will begin airing its six-episode final season on Wednesday, July 22nd at 10:30.
From Pat Bishop (The Birthday Boys), Matt Ingebretson (I’d Love for You to See Me Dance), and Jake Weisman (That’s How I Lost the Last One), Corporate follows Matt (Ingebretson) and Jake (Weisman), two needy, downtrodden employees at multinational corporation Hampton DeVille. Finding themselves under the thumb of CEO Christian DeVille (Lance Reddick), the two lean (too much) on their ally in Human Resources Grace (Aparna Nancherla) while navigating a series of disasters that threaten their employment status.
In addition to Ingretson, Weisman, Reddick, and Nancherla, the series stars Anne Dudek (Mad Men) and Adam Lustick (Battle of the Sexes).
Corporate is part of a live-action scripted slate for Comedy Central that includes well-received Awkwafina is Nora From Queens, an autobiographical comedy from Golden Globe winner Awkwafina (The Farewell); Chicago-set South Side, about two best friends and recent college graduates working at a repo business; showbiz satire The Other Two, which follows the siblings of a recent viral phenomenon; and Rory Scovel basketball comedy Robbie.
A recent New York Times article indicates that live-action scripted content is an endangered species on Comedy Central, as the network let a majority of its talent and development department go earlier this year and now plans a focus on animation, movies, and unscripted. The fates of its active scripted series remain to be determined.
