The CW has ordered their first two pilots as possible new series for 2015.

a-new-flemish-series-on-bbc-four-cordonCordon will likely get picked up, unless it’s awful, considering that it comes from Vampire Diaries favorite Julie Plec and is directed by almost-unstoppable director David Nutter. It explores what happens after a deadly epidemic breaks out in Atlanta and a large city quarantine is enforced, leaving people stuck inside to fight for their lives. Being stuck inside also grows a society and reveals both the devolution of humanity and the birth of unlikely heroes. It’s based on a Belgian series by Carl Joos.

Next up is an update of the anthology series Tales From The Darkside shepherded by Joe Hill, son of Stephen King and developer of the Locke & Key comic book series that inspired an amazing TV pilot that didn’t go to series. Additional Executive Producers of the series will be Sleepy Hollow’s Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Heather Kadin. THR notes that the new Tales From The Darkside is “a reinvention of the horror/fantasy/thriller anthology” and that each episode is completely different and will contain at least one separate story, with new and different actors every time.

More pilots are expected to be ordered, so stay tuned for more announcements as they become available.
