Deadline is reporting that USA has opted to cancel sci-fi drama Colony after three seasons, with this week’s season finale now doubling as a series ender.

The news comes after the series dropped close to 40% in L+SD ratings this season, thanks to a shift to Wednesdays in the summer vs. Thursdays in the winter. Couple that with the loss of a Los Angeles tax credit prior to season three and Colony ranking as USA’s lowest drama in both L+SD and L+3 and USA made the decision to cancel. Remaining on their summer schedule are Queen of the South, Shooter, and Suits; decisions on the status of all three shows should be announced in the coming weeks.

From Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Ryan J. Condal (Hercules), Colony followed the Bowman family led by former FBI agent Will (Josh Holloway) and bar owner Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies) as they grappled with a mysterious alien invasion that threatened to tear them apart.

In addition to Holloway and Callies, Colony starred Peter Jacobson (Transformers), Amanda Righetti (The O.C.), Tory Kittles (True Detective), Alex Neustaedter (Ithaca), Isabella Crovetti-Cramp (The Neighbors), and Jacob Buster (The Christmas Project).
