Good news and bad news: The bad news is that we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger to premiere on the Freeform cable channel. The good news is that a writer for the project has finally been announced.
A profile of Freeform’s current status recently ran in The Hollywood Reporter and within it, it was mentioned that the project was ordered “straight-to-series in April and now eyed for winter 2018 as showrunner Joe Pokaski (Underground) rewrites his initial script.”
Who is Joe Pokaski?
Beyond Underground, Pokaski’s previous credits include two episodes of Marvel’s Daredevil (“In The Blood” and “Condemned”) and he was a Co-Executive Producer for that show’s first season. He wrote and was a producer on several episodes of the original recipe CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and he was a part of Heroes during the era when Heroes was still good, penning one of the best episodes of the entire series, “Five Years Gone.”
In other words, Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson are in good hands.
Hopefully the announcement of a writer will mean more news about Cloak & Dagger is on the way.
