Candle Cove has taken everything from Mike Painter – his brother; his marriage; his childhood; his relationships with his mother and Jessica. From the time Mike was a boy, he never had a chance at normalcy due to his experience with the show and its influence never let up as he attempted to build a career for himself and start a family. Tormented by the things he saw when the show first appeared 30 years ago, as well as the fact that his presence in Iron Hill kicked off another round of slaughter, Mike is determined to hang on to the one bit of hope he has left in the world – his daughter.
On the finale of Channel Zero: Candle Cove, Mike prepares to go to Candle Cove and rescue Lily. It’s already enough that she’s fallen under the influence of the show that decimated his life, but he’s not about to let the show ruin her life in the same way it ruined his. He knows how it feels for the show’s influence to linger on one’s psyche and that’s not the way for anyone, let alone his daughter, to live. Even though it might not be wise for his safety to take the bait that Candle Cove is clearly casting, given that they’re luring him in particular, Mike doesn’t have a reason to live without Lily by his side, so putting himself in danger and confronting the demons of his past is a small price is pay for the chance to rescue her. But even if Mike is able to make it to Candle Cove and get his daughter out alive, will he be able to make it out of his lifelong trauma alive?
Elsewhere on Channel Zero: Candle Cove, Marla is forced into making an impossible choice that will have a major impact on her life going forward.
The finale of Channel Zero: Candle Cove airs Tuesday at 9:00 on Syfy.
Will Mike be able to save Lily from Candle Cove? Could Marla be forced to choose between her son and her granddaughter? Do you think that Mike ending up trapped in Candle Cove would thwart the murders for good?
