Looks like MTV’s Teen Wolf is happening, as it now will have a panel filling the Comic-Con spot once held by Terra Nova.

Much of the cast and producers from the show are expected to attend. Here’s the official Comic-Con write-up for the panel, which is scheduled for Friday, July 23:

3:30-4:30 MTV’s Teen Wolf— The first ever look at MTV’s new one-hour drama based on the Michael J. Fox movie. Join stars Tyler Posey (Maid in Manhattan), Tyler Hoechlin (Road to Perdition), Dylan O’Brien, Crystal Reed, series creator/exec producer Jeff Davis (Criminal Minds) and director Russell Mulcahy (Highlander) for a screening of the pilot presentation and a Q&A on how the new show pays homage to and updates the classic movie. Room 6A

One of our favorite websites, The Futon Critic, tonight posted a review of the 35-minute pilot presentation for MTV’s Teen Wolf TV series, which will star one-time Smallville guest Tyler Posey.

The review covers previously-unrevealed details about the project, which sounds more like it’s “Teen Wolf in name only.”

MTV has put in an order, likely for 12 episodes, for their TV series adaptation of the movie Teen Wolf.

This version of the story stars Tyler Posey, who played “Javier” in the Smallville Season 6 episode “Subterranean.” (Admit it, you know it was your favorite)

Apparently this time around the lead character’s name is Scott McCall. The Equalizer’s son will not be pleased.

MTV is hoping that playing a werewolf is just as much of a role for a Tyler as it has been for a Taylor, as the cable channel has announced Tyler Posey as the star of their TV version of the classic Teen Wolf film franchise.

Smallville fans would remember Posey as Javier in the Season 6 episode “Subterranean.”

This Teen Wolf is named Scott McCall (Edward Woodward’s Equalizer son needs to sue!) – and he is portrayed as somewhat of a dork who gets super-powers, including the ability to attract the ladies, after a wolf attack.

There’s a bad werewolf in town too, Tyler Hoechlin of 7th Heaven, who is described as a “vicious and predatory” werewolf.

Playing the female love interest will be Crystal Reed (Hard Times). Her character may have a secret as well which could put her into conflict with the series lead.

Rounding out the cast will be Dylan O’Brien as Scott’s best friend. Casting breakdowns at least say that, like the original movie, the best friend will be named Stiles.

A pilot presentation will be shot, which is written by Criminal Minds creator Jeff Davis. Davis, Marty Adelstein and Rene Echevarria are executive producers.
