Arthur and Grace’s narrow escape from Cronenburgh should’ve been it for them. They were no longer entangled in the dangers of the Blood Drive and they finally acted on the latent feelings they had for one another, so this was their opportunity to get as fresh a start as you can in post-apocalyptic 1999. As much as they might’ve wanted to bring Heart down for Karma, Christopher, and all those who’ve been hurt by the conglomerate, Arthur and Grace are tired from all they’ve been through, having been beaten down by a cynicism that makes standing up to Heart seem pointless. However, given that Slink managed to save them in Cronenburgh, they owe him this one last attempt at getting one over on Heart.
On the next episode of Blood Drive, Arthur and Grace find themselves in Kentucky for a dangerous battle dome fight to the death. Slink put the performance on in an attempt to show Heart that he’s capable of producing entertaining content without their oversight, but in doing so, he’s put Arthur and Grace in the position of having to kill to earn the freedom they thought they had after Cronenburgh. It’s particularly tough for someone like Arthur, who was beyond done with the chaos and violence he’s witnessed (and participated in) during his time on the Blood Drive, to reconcile this one last task with the person he’s trying to be away from the race. However, if Arthur can compartmentalize his moral objections to the fight and channel the anger, helplessness, and frustration that he feels toward Heart in the dome, he stands a chance at earning his freedom once again and ridding himself of the Blood Drive once and for all.
Elsewhere on Blood Drive, Grace is faced with a stunning revelation in the middle of her own dome fight.
Blood Drive airs Wednesdays at 10:00 on Syfy.
Will Arthur be able to survive the dome fight without having to kill? How will Grace react to receiving shocking news in the middle of a high pressure situation? How do you think this fight is supposed to help Slink stick it to Heart?
