Living Single and Cosby Show alum Erika Alexander will be appearing in a recurring arc for Black Lightning Season 2.

The second season of Black Lightning, which premieres Tuesday, October 9, will feature an arc where Alexander will be playing a therapist with telepathic abilities who is trying to help Jennifer (series star China Anne McClain) acclimate to her manifesting powers and the emotions that go along with them. Alexander is currently slated to appear in three episodes, and her character’s name is “Perenna.”

Alexander, who first came to prominence as “Cousin Pam” on The Cosby Show, won two best actress NAACP Image Awards for her role as Maxine on Living Single. Living Single also featured Cress Williams, the star of Black Lightning, in the role of “Scooter.” Most recently, Alexander played Detective LaToya in the acclaimed blockbuster film Get Out.

She will also soon be seen in HBO’s Insecure and has been known for her activism and content creation, including a graphic novel collaboration with Joss Whedon and Dark Horse Comics featuring the Buffy the Vampire Slayer character Giles. She also collaborated in Dark Horse’s groundbreaking sci-fi series Concrete Park.
