FX has announced that acclaimed comedy Better Things has been renewed for a third season, which will premiere in 2018.
“Better Things success is testament to the creative genius of Pamela Adlon as a writer, director and actor,” said Eric Schrier, President of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions. “It has been a joy for everyone at FX to support Pamela and see the critics and industry recognize this series as one of the very best shows on TV. Pamela and the enormously talented cast, producers and crew have our deepest appreciation.”
Created by and starring Emmy winner Pamela Adlon, Better Things tells the story of working actress Sam as she navigates a business that can be difficult for women to thrive in while balancing taking care of her daughters Max, Frankie, and Duke with watching out for her mother Phil.
After a well-regarded first season, Better Things made a creative leap in season two to the tune of a 96 on Metacritic – one of the top TV scores of the year. The series, part of a scripted slate for FX that includes American Horror Story, Baskets, and Atlanta, has already landed a Peabody Award and Adlon received a surprise Emmy nomination this year, where she lost to Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Better Things airs tonight at 10:00 on FX. You can check out a look at the next episode below.
