Epix has announced that espionage thriller Berlin Station has been renewed for a third season, whose production will begin in spring 2018 for a premiere either later that year or early 2019.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce this news as we close on a spectacular second season of Berlin Station,” said Jocelyn Diaz, Epix EVP of Original Programming on Wednesday of the CIA drama. “This past season was timely, significant, and almost eerily prescient in its mirroring of real-life events this year, and we are looking forward to working with the talented teams at Paramount TV and Anonymous Content on another installment.”
From Olin Steinhauer (The Tourist) and showran by Brad Winters (Boss), Berlin Station follows CIA Officer Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage) as he begins a stint working undercover in Berlin. The first season covered Daniel’s attempt at unlocking the identity of the party responsible for leaking CIA information, while the recently wrapped second season found Daniel attempting to infiltrate a far-right party believed to be planning an act of terror right before an upcoming election.
In addition to Armitage, Berlin Station stars Rhys Ifans (Elementary), Leland Orser (Ray Donovan), Michelle Forbes (The Killing), Ashley Judd (Missing), and Richard Jenkins (The Shape of Water).
The series is part of a scripted slate for Epix that includes Get Shorty, which was renewed for a second season, and political comedy Graves. No renewal decision on the latter has been announced as of yet.
