The CW has released a first look photo of Ruby Rose in costume as Kate Kane a.k.a. Batwoman from their upcoming DC TV Crossover “Elseworlds.”
LaMonica Garrett has been cast as The Monitor, Tyler Hoechlin is Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch is Lois Lane, Jeremy Davies is playing an Arkham Asylum doctor, and Cassandra Jean Amell is the wife of Mr. Freeze in this three-show crossover which of course is also notable for introducing Kate Kane/Batwoman to live action for the first time.
You can see the first look image below. The costume was designed by award-winning designer Colleen Atwood who is responsible for several other major costumes in the Arrowverse. We are really feeling the cape which almost looks like bat wings! The crossover begins filming today (October 9) which also happens to be the air date for the Flash season premiere, and we’re wondering if the official release of a Kate Kane photo means we’ll also get a first look photo of Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane sometime soon.
One of the most prominent LGBT characters in comics, the Kate Kane Batwoman character first appeared in the 21st century as part of DC Comics’ 52 series. The character then went on to acclaimed runs in Detective Comics and her own self-titled series which was published by DC.
