truTV has announced that critically praised comedy At Home with Amy Sedaris has been renewed for a second season, which will go into production later this year for a 2019 premiere. Additionally, production studio A24 (Lady Bird, 2 Dope Queens) has boarded the series, which truTV says had an audience where 25% were new to the network, for its upcoming second season.
From Sedaris and Paul Dinello (Strangers with Candy), At Home with Amy Sedaris stars Sedaris as an exaggerated version of herself, a host of a lifestyle-focused series dedicated to showcasing homemaking tips for viewers. Each episode focuses on a specific theme (e.g. cooking for one, grief, and the holidays), with Sedaris welcoming eccentric experts in particular fields to best serve her viewers.
In addition to Sedaris, At Home with Amy Sedaris stars Heather Lawless (The Heart, She Holler), Cole Escola (Difficult People), and David Pasquesi (Veep). Season one featured guest appearances from the likes of Paul Giamatti (Billions), Jane Krakowski (30 Rock), and Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water), among others.
At Home with Amy Sedaris joins a scripted slate for truTV that includes Andrea Savage vehicle I’m Sorry and Those Who Can’t, which follows three dysfunctional teachers in Colorado.
