During the run of her hit TV show, Amy has attempted to synthesize a topic with the depth and breadth of hospitality into bite-sized, easily understood morsels for her audience. Utilizing the crafting corner, her trusty stove, and the help of Patty, Chassie, and Ronnie, among others, Amy has explored everything from the aftermath of grief to the different types of glue, from the etiquette of gift giving to the dangers of snakes. But as much as she’s managed to cover thus far, can Amy effectively take her very specific brand of homemaking out of this world?

On the next episode of At Home with Amy Sedaris, Amy attempts to push the boundaries of hospitality by planning a seven-course dinner party using a futuristic theme. Any good hostess has to be flexible when it comes to throwing events and this includes the adoption of particular themes to make things interesting for guests; not only will this allow Amy to showcase another side of her hospitality specialty to viewers, it will make her a stronger hostess for future events. Hospitality is a field where one gets to indulge in their creativity and allowing oneself to indulge can only be a good thing, so this is as much training for Amy as it is a visually interesting detour for viewers. But will Amy’s attempt at doing something radically different from her norm go as smoothly as she might want? Or if she’s bitten off more than she can chew, will she simply have to make do?

At Home with Amy Sedaris airs Tuesdays at 10:30 on truTV.

What type of episode would you like to see Amy do next? Who do you think Amy could be trying to throw a dinner party for using such a different theme for her? Would you want Patty Hogg to make you a salad?
