TNT has renewed crime drama Animal Kingdom for a third season, which should premiere in the summer of 2018.

“The Cody family’s drama keeps bringing more and more viewers back for more,” said Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT in a statement. “Animal Kingdom has earned its place among a very select group of cable dramas that continue to grow audiences thanks to superior writing and storytelling.”

Inspired by the 2010 film of the same name, which garnered an Oscar nomination for Jacki Weaver, Animal Kingdom centers on Joshua “J” Cody (Finn Cole), a teenager who moves in with his estranged grandmother after his mother passes away from an overdose. Once inside the family circle, J quickly comes to realize that the maternal side of his family is filled with criminals, forcing him to decide whether he wants to join them in their exploits.

In addition to Cole, Animal Kingdom stars Ellen Barkin (The New Normal), Scott Speedman (Felicity),  Shawn Hatosy (Southland), Ben Robson (Vikings), and Jake Weary (It Follows).

Animal Kingdom airs Tuesdays at 9:00 on TNT. You can check out a promo for the next episode below.
