FX has released a new preview for the second season of acclaimed anthology American Crime Story, which won nine Emmys for its first season focusing on the O.J. Simpson murder trial.
Based on Maureen Orth’s Vulgar Favors: Andrew Cunanan, Gianni Versace, and the Largest Failed Manhunt in U. S. History, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story will examine the 1997 murder of famed fashion designed Gianni Versace at the hands of serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Versace was Cunanan’s fifth victim before the killer committed suicide on a Miami houseboat as police were closing in.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story is set to star Edgar Ramirez (Carlos) as Gianni Versace; Darren Criss (Glee) as Andrew Cunanan; Penelope Cruz (Volver) as Versace’s sister and fellow fashion designer Donatella; Ricky Martin (General Hospital) as Versace’s partner Antonio D’Amico; and Max Greenfield (New Girl) as Versace’s older brother Santo.
Joining a scripted slate that includes Better Things, American Horror Story, and The Americans, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story will premiere Wednesday, January 17th at 10:00 on FX.
