Netflix has announced that Marvel drama Jessica Jones has been renewed for a third season. However, there’s no word yet as to when it would premiere or how many episodes it would feature.
Based on the character from Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, with Melissa Rosenberg (Red Widow) developing the series for television, Jessica Jones follows the titular character (Krysten Ritter), a former superhero trying to rebuild her life as a private investigator specializing in cases involving remarkable abilities. Jessica’s work forces her to confront the trauma in her past, her complicated feelings on her time as a superhero, and rediscover the inner power she thought she lost.
In addition to Ritter, Jessica Jones stars Eka Darville (The Originals), Carrie-Anne Moss (Humans), and J.R. Ramirez (Power).
Jessica Jones is part of an extended Marvel universe on Netflix, joining The Punisher, Iron Fist, Daredevil, and Luke Cage in the streamer’s collection of series. All but The Punisher combined for 2017’s The Defenders, a miniseries which found the heroes doing battle with The Hand.
