NBC has set a Thursday, February 1st premiere date for upcoming comedy AP Bio. The series will get a special preview at 9:30 following Will & Grace before taking a month-long hiatus and returning Thursday, March 1st at 9:30.

Executive produced by Seth Meyers and Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live), AP Bio tells the story of a cynical Ivy League philosophy professor (Glenn Howerton) who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher. However, he has no desire to actually teach biology, so he decides to use the bright minds at his disposal for his own personal gain.

In addition to Howerton, whose involvement with the next season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is up in the air, AP Bio stars Patton Oswalt (The Goldbergs), Mary Sohn (The Boss), Lyric Lewis (MADtv), and Aparna Brielle (Grimm).

AP Bio is part of a robust midseason roster for NBC that includes crime dramedy Good Girls, musical drama Rise, and Mindy Kaling comedy Champions. It’ll be the second comedy that gets a special preview followed by a lengthy hiatus, as CBS aired the Young Sheldon pilot following the Big Bang Theory season premiere before giving the slot to 9JKL.
