The CW has officially ordered pilots for several projects in development, including the Green Arrow pilot Arrow. That means we’ll be [hopefully] hearing more in the future, and a pilot will actually shoot. Beyond that, who knows if it will make it to the Fall 2012 schedule.
As of yet, the project is said to be taking a new direction with the character and Justin Hartley, who played Green Arrow on Smallville, is not expected to be involved.
Additionally, the network has given the pilot greenlight to a modern update of Beauty & The Beast, which is based on the television series that starred Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman; and in other remake/revival news, they are doing a pilot for The Carrie Diaries, based on the Sex and the City prequel books. Because the Gossip Girl spinoff project worked out oh so well, of course.
Previously, The CW put in an order for Cult, which was originally a contender for The WB years ago.
THR was the first to post the news today about The CW’s pickups. Stay tuned for more details if and when they become available!
